Principal Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year at Post Oak Middle School. I am excited to be joining the POMS Patriot community as principal for this outstanding school and community!! Prior to joining the Post Oak Middle School Team, I served as principal of Ni River Middle School. I also served as a principal and assistant principal in Caroline County, Virginia and taught for nine years in Stafford County, Virginia.

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Master’s Degree from the University of Mary Washington and completed coursework as a newly appointed administrator at Virginia Tech. My family and I have lived in Virginia for the past seventeen years. My wife is in education and two of my three children are Spotsylvania County Public School students. Our mission here at Post Oak School is to equip all of our Patriots with the essential 21 st Century Skills to prepare them for a smooth transition to high school and to be successful in their future endeavors. Students will be challenged daily and engaged with hands-on learning that is differentiated to meet their individual learning needs.

I earned my Teacher Certification for ELL through the Educate VA Career Switcher Program. Additionally, I have a degree in Family. This will be my first full year teaching ELL as I earned my endorsement through the Cohort program at George Mason University in February, 2017. I started my teaching career many years. Post Oak Middle offers students engaging learning experiences such as; Chrome Book Classrooms, Flipped Classrooms, Makerspace Classroom, World Languages, Career and Technical Education opportunities, Fine Arts, and a competitive athletic program. Students are encouraged to be active learners and leaders inside and outside of the classroom.

A successful school community requires communication and collaboration amongst students, teachers, staff, and parents. I encourage all parents to be actively involved here at Post Oak Middle School. Please take time to join the Post Oak PTO and volunteer to assist within the school community. I look forward to working with each of you this school year.
