Prior to Featherlite, I was using a Jaguar Featherlite. It was a good system but towards the end of it's cycles it would just blow everything I would pick up. But my vacuum is Awesome!
Weekend turnover I picked this vacuum up on a Friday, put it together, used once (?), called customer service to report 'no suction' when I tried to vacuum. The customer service rep. The customer service rep offered me 2 solutions: #1 she could refer me to a service center for repair (HUH it was brand new) or #2 I could return it to the store where I purchased it. I took door # 2. In addition to absolutely no suction from the carpet vacuum end there was a terrible rattle coming from inside the vacuum like something was loose inside.
I purchased this vac because a cleaning lady I used had one & it vacuumed my carpet great the carpet looked new when she finished; obviously I got the dud in the group. Originally when I opened the box I had a feeling someone had already owned it, used it & returned it; just a guess. Comments about Dirt Devil Upright Featherlite Vacuum (UD30010): I did not use it a lot yet but the little I did, felt great. The challenge for me was putting it together. I got stuck at many points.not sure I understood the instructions.and with some distance, the light bulb came on and I figures out the stuck points. All other questions I had, wrote them down and called and asked.
