We have just acquired one of these as a 2nd monitor as baby #2 is nearly here and DD1 is still being a proper pest at bedtimes and we don't feel happy right yet not being able to hear her. I brought this 2nd hand cheapish as I didn't want bells and whistles, just something I could use to keep tabs on her at bedtimes. The only proviso being it needed to be digital so it doesn't interfere with the baby's monitor, and that it is portable as it needs to be used wherever we are downstairs (including the garden). We charged it up and started using it, but even after 24 hours on charge, the parent unit only lasts about 20-30 minutes which is useless. We then need to get the charger unit and plug it in wherever we are which defeats the whole point of it being a cordless unit.

I've spoken to the seller (a colleague) and she said she just assumed this was normal as other people she knows who have this monitor also only get about 30 minutes life from the parent unit. I've googled this, and sure enough she is probably right - every review of the product says that the battery life is chronic (in some cases only lasting about 10 minutes!). Download Free Grewe Scanner Interface Professional Movers. The seller has offered to refund me the money (only £10!!) so I can buy a replacement battery unit from Tomy, but even then according to reviews I understand a brand new battery only lasts about 3 hours which still isn't much good really - we put her up to bed at 7pm and want to be able to monitor her till we go to bed which can easily be 11-11.30ish so thats more than 3 hours! Plus the replacement battery from Tomy is £14.99 - rather steep. Has anyone else had similar experience of this product, and found any solutions? The reception/sound quality is really good so I'm loathed to just ditch it. Just not sure whether to bear the £14.99 battery cost to be back where we started from.

Experiences & ideas appreciated!
